Jailed for stealing shaving foam and blades on Valentine's Day

A man who admitted to stealing shaving foam, blades and gel from a supermarket on Valentine's Day last year has been jailed for three months. Wayne Delia, 28, from Paola, was caught red handed as he stole the items from Carter's Supermarket at his hometown. The items had a total value of €168.95. Mr Delia was also charged with committing a crime while he was on bail over another case and with relapsing. Magistrate Consuelo Scerri Herrera told Mr Delia that he had dented the trust the court had in him when he had been granted bail, adding that she had "no alternative" than to sentence him to an effective jail term.
