Marsa striker dies suddenly

Marsa FC striker Basil Chibueze has died suddenly, just three weeks short of turning 25. Informed sources said he was taken ill while jogging late yesterday and died in Mater Dei Hospital. Chibueze was a naturalised Maltese citizen, having arrived from Nigeria. He worked as a bus driver and joined Marsa last year, scoring 10 times. His brother Ikechukwu passed away in similar circumstances at St Luke’s Hospital in 2007, when he was 23. He had played for Mqabba and Mosta.
