Police arrest Sliema mugger

A 28-year-old man from Cottonera but resident in Naxxar has been arrested in connection with the mugging of a woman in Sliema on Tuesday, the police said. The man was arrested earlier this afternoon after a person watched a YouTube video, uploaded on timesofmalta.com, showing CCTV footage of a man mugging the woman. He recognised the robber and called the police. The mugging took place at 3.46pm on Tuesday in Sir Luigi Camilleri Street. The robber ran off with a gold necklace with a diamond cross and left the 67-year-old woman from Sliema lying on the ground. The arrested person has a police record and was arraigned on other crimes some years ago.
