Objectors to further development at Portomaso have filed a judicial protest calling on the planning authority to appeal a decision by the Appeals Board approving a proposal for the building of 46 bungalows around an artificial lagoon with a total area of 7,400 square metres.
In their protest, signed by lawyers Ian Spiteri Bailey and Victoria Cuschieri, objectors Ingrid and Anthony Ratcliffe and Victor-Emanuel Agius and Francoise Vanderperre, said they had indications Mepa was not appealing this decision, contrary to what it did in similar circumstances.
The same objectors also filed an application for a warrant of prohibitory injunction for the court to stop Mepa from issuing the necessary development permit.
This was because the Appeals Board had on November 14, given the authority 30 days within which to issue the permit.
