A policeman on extra duty with Enemalta was injured this evening when he was hit by a table during an inspection at a food outlet in Birkirkara. His condition is not yet known.
The police said Enemalta personnel, who were checking to see that shops had everything in line with the law, realised that something was not in order at this shop.
It is believed that a similar irregularity was detected some time ago in another outlet belonging to the same chain.
The policeman escorting the Enemalta personnel was hit with a table by one of the people running the shop.
Sources said the police are on the lookout for two people - a man in his 30s and his teenage son.
