Girl, 13, hit by car while cycling

A 13-year-old cyclist suffered fractures when she was hit by a car yesterday, at about 9.20 p.m., in Triq il-Wied, Iklin, the police said today. The girl was on her bike going home when she hit by a silver Vauxhall Corsa driven by a 20-year-old man residing in Swieqi. A 20-year-old woman who lives in Naxxar was also travelling in the car. A witness said the cyclist was free-wheeling downhill when she strayed into the opposite lane. She was not wearing a helmet.
