Investigations into cancelled tours continue as furious clients demand refunds

The police and officials of the Consumer Affairs Authority today continued to list complaints by a large number of holidaymakers whose tours were cancelled by Fantasy Tours yesterday, some of them days before departure. The holidaymakers received a curt SMS yesterday telling them that their holidays had been cancelled. Some said they had paid deposits of several hundred euros that very morning. The agency’s offices remained closed today and the police are understood to be questioning directors. Furious holidaymakers have set up two facebook sites to compile reports of their situation, while calling for joint court action. Anger was also expressed at how the agency had continued to operate normally despite a warning by the Consumer Affairs Authority last November. Although several employees bore the brunt of the fury on facebook posts, it was explained by others that the employees have actually been sacked. Fantasy Tours is operated by Golden Travel Club and focused on tours to Corfu, Tunisia, Plovdiv, Slovenia and Crete. Five tours were planned for this month.
