Energy Minister Konrad Mizzi said in parliament this evening that the BWSC power plant is suffering consistent faults.
He was replying to questions in Parliament by Nationalist MP Tony Bezzina about whether the plant's diesel engines had been switched off because of a fuel oil strainer problem.
Dr Mizzi said the machines were switched to gasoil until the strainers were replaced.
The minister said in reply to other questions that despite the plant having been described as being state of the art, it was persistently developing faults which he would, one day, like to have some time to list.
