Security guard Stephen Ciangura has filed a judicial protest against the Valleta council and Joseph Attard and Paul Dimech holding them responsible for damages suffered. In his protest, on behalf of his company Executive Security Services Ltd, signed by Jose Herrera and Veronique Dalli, Mr Ciangura said his company operated according to law and had all the required licences and permits to provide security services. He said it had expressed an interest to provide security services for the New Year’s Eve national event in Valletta. However, it was informed that the contract was going to be given to Mr Attard and Mr Dimech. Mr Ciangura said that Mr Attard and Mr Dimech did not have a company to provide such services as required by law. A security service company operated by Mr Attard’s company was being liquidated and had not paid a police licence for the past three years. This meant that the company was not even covered by insurance as was necessary by all security companies. Consequently, this was prejudicial to his company because it was in line with law and followed the imposed conditions.
