New Air Malta roster would cause hardships for workers

Air Malta employees are disillusioned at proposals being made for the introduction of a new roster, the implementation of which would cause them unnecessary hardship. The General Workers’ Union said in a statement this morning that the software to draw up this roster cost the company €30,000 and it had been paying €1,000 a month since April to keep the system going. The GWU said it has been objecting to the new roster and its implementation has been postponed three times. It said it would not allow workers to suffer unnecessarily and requested the company to evaluate the roster considering its benefits and repercussions. The union promised to continue to work for a solution to be found.
