Update 2: Power fully restored

A trip in a 132kv distribution cable leading to the Mosta distribution centre led to extensive power cuts in the north of the island. The cable tripped at around 5.20pm and Enemalta engineers immediately started working to locate the fault. Readers from Birkirkara, Sliema, San Gwann, Naxxar and Gharghur, Hamrun, Attard, Mdina, Mellieha and Mosta reported power cuts. The power started being restored at around 6pm and was fully restored by 7.07pm. Further investigations are underway, the corporation said in a statement
