Woman used massage parlour as a brothel

Dongmei Muscat, 48 of St Paul’s Bay, admitted in court today to having lived off the earnings of prostitution and used a massage parlour in Qawra as a brothel. Her defence counsel said the woman was a professional masseuse who, along with another woman, would offer 'extras’ to make ends meet. A number of sex-related items were exhibited in court.   During submissions on punishment, lawyer Joe Brincat, who happened to be in the hall, in a light-hearted moment urged the court to make this ‘a happy ending’. The woman was conditionally discharged for three years, fined €400 and warned not to commit the crime again.
