Labour will unveil its tariff reduction plans in the first week of the electoral campaign, party leader Joseph Muscat said this morning.
"We will show when and how we will reduce the electricity and water rates," he said. Cuts, he said, would be brought in for domestic users and the manufacturing sector.
"The people will be told by how much their bills will go down, and we will give delivery dates" Dr Muscat said.
The PL’s energy policy, he added, would show households and businesses just how the party would fulfil its promise to lower rates, leaving people with more money in their pockets, he added.
The people would have a clear choice between Labour and the government, which, he said, had already told the EU that it would raise the rates.
Dr Muscat was speaking at the end of a tour of Delicata winery in Paola. He also repeated the comments later on a One Radio interview.
He was shown around the winery by director George Delicata.
The winery used over 1 million grapes in August and September alone, and has invested over €1.5 million in infrastructure over the past four years, Mr Delicata said.
