Italy honours Oliver Friggieri

Maltese academic Oliver Friggieri has been awarded the Al Merito della Repubblica Italiana. He was given the award, which is the Italian equivalent to Gieh ir-Repubblika, this evening by Italian ambassador Luigi Marras, on behalf of Italian President Giorgio Napolitano. Prof. Friggieri was given the award for his long research on cultural relations between Malta and Italy.
