Italy to honour Maltese academic

Maltese academic Oliver Friggieri is to be honoured by Italy with the award Al Merito della Repubblica Italiana. Prof. Friggieri will be receiving the award from Italian ambassador Luigi Marras, on behalf of Italian President Giorgio Napolitano for his long research on cultural relations between Malta and Italy. The award ceremony is being held at the Istituto Italiano di Cultura in St George’s Square, Valletta today week at 5.30pm. The presentation will be made under the patronage of President George Abela.
