A vintage Spitfire aircraft and the newly livered Air Malta Airbus performed a unique flypast in close formation to bring the Malta International Airshow to a conclusion this afternoon.
The tiny Spitfire tucked itself right beneath the tail of the jetliner for the flypast which was greeted with applause by hundreds of people who attended the show.
The Spitfire was in Malta to mark the 70th anniversary since Malta was granted the George Cross.
Displays were also held by other aircraft including the Libyan Air Force Chinook and aircraft of the Royal Air Force and the Armed Forces of Malta.
