Woman, 74, tied up at home for 24 hours after robbery

A 74-year-old woman from Luqa suffering a terrifying ordeal in her own home, having been robbed and left with her hands bound behind her back for almost 24 hours until being discovered this afternoon. The police said they were alerted to the case in a house in New Street, Luqa, today at 5 p.m. Preliminary investigations showed that an unknown person entered the woman’s house yesterday at about 6 p.m., tied up the woman and stole her jewellery and cash. Informed sources said the woman was discovered by members of her family, face down on the floor. She has been hospitalized. Magistrate Joseph Apap Bologna is holding an inquiry.
