Suspect goes on-the-swim

A man wanted by the police was caught yesterday afternoon in Kennedy Grove after a chase where he ended up jumping into the sea. The police had been informed he was seen in Buġibba. He was then spotted again in the Salini area – this time by police officers who were keeping a lookout for him. He jumped into the sea to swim away but the police followed him on land and managed to apprehend him. The man was taken to hospital for a medical check-up. The police did not say why he was wanted.
