Jailed 15 years for importing drugs in candlesticks

John Grima, 67 of Hamrun, was today jailed for 15 years and fined €30,000 for importing drugs. Sentence was delivered after a trial by jury where jurors heard how Mr Grima imported cocaine hidden in decorative candles. He was arrested in January 2006 after flying in from Amsterdam. The jurors returned a 6-3 guilty verdict aafter five hours of deliberation.
