Seven assistant police commissioners appointed

Seven new assistant police commissioners were formally appointed during a ceremony at police headquarters this afternoon They are Dr Mario Spiteri, Norbert Ciappara, Laurence Cutajar, Carmelo Magri, Silvio Valletta, Martin Sammut and Stephen Gatt. Three deputy commissioners were appointed last week, making this the biggest number of officers ever to fill the top ranks of the force. The letters of appointment were presented by the Minister for Home Affairs Manuel Mallia and the Commissioner of Police Peter Paul Zammit.
