Josef Grech, who wrote an unofficial biography about Dom Mintoff, has had a suspended jail term extended to 16 months suspended for two years after he was found guilty of defrauding Homemate of Mriehel.
He was convicted of defrauding the DIY superstore of €1,344. The case happened in December 2010.
Lawyer Mark Mifsud Cutajar said in court that his client was doing everything possible to reform himself, and he had paid the funds he had received fraudulently from Homemate.
The crime was committed while Mr Grech was under an eight-months jail term suspended for two years after another conviction.
