Warden punched by driver who was talking on mobile phone

The police have arrested a man who this morning punched a female warden after she stopped him speaking on his mobile phone while driving. She was not seriously injured. The incident happened in Gunlayer Street, Floriana at about 10.30am. An eyewitness said that when the warden stopped the driver, he got out of the car, started shouting and swearing at her, pulled off her hat and punched her. The police raced to the scene and arrested the man. The warden was taken to hospital by ambulance.
