Paceville’s administrative council members are appealing for better funding for repairs and cleaning. They are also asking for help to address the “terrible” congestion caused day and night because Paceville has three entrances but only one exit through Church Street.
Councillors Michael La Rosa, Joseph Oliva and Dolores Falzon said the 2014 budget amounted to €115,000 and the council was already some €35,000 short when expenses for necessities like waste collection and maintenance were deducted.
“We don’t have one euro left to repair anything,” Mr La Rosa said.
Mr Oliva said there was no money to clean the litter left by thousands of bar patrons, some of whom vomited and urinated in public spaces and on residents’ patios.
