Driver critically injured in Birzebbuga crash

A 59-year-old man was grievously injured in a traffic accident in Zejtun Road, Birzebbuga, late yesterday. The police said the accident happened at 9.30 p.m. when the man was driving an Opel Corsa which was involved in collision with a Land Rover, driven by a 20-year-old man also from Birzebbuga. The 59-year-old was taken to Mater Dei Hospital for medical treatment. He was later certified to be in danger of loss of life. A 22-year-old woman, residing in Birzebbuga, who was passenger in the Land Rover, suffered slight injuries.
