A crane driver was slightly injured when a crane toppled over at Birkirkara Ta' Paris secondary school this morning.
The accident happened at about 9.35am.
The injured man, who had been in a 'cage' suspended from the jib, was rescued by colleagues and taken to hospital for treatment. He has since been released.
The crane was lifting material for a fence around a football ground at the boys' secondary school.
Part of the crane came to rest on the school building. Schoolchildren were not injured and classes continued as usual.
In a statement this evening, the Government said that at no point were students or school personnel in any danger as this area was out of bounds throughout the day.
