Driver dies in Luqa crash

A 55-year-old man from Mosta who had been driving a Mitsubishi pick-up van died this afternoon following a collision near St Vincent de Paul Home in Luqa. The pick-up was involved in a crash with a Jaguar S Type driven by a 19-year-old man from Hamrun. The van was coming out of the Ghammieri farm junction while the Jaguar was being driven downhill towards Marsa. The pick-up overturned with the force of impact and came to rest near a bus stop. The driver died on the spot. A Magisterial inquiry is under way.
