Woman injured in Wied iz-Zurrieq fall

An 18-year-old woman from Marsaxlokk was injured this evening when she fell down a section of Wied Babu near  Wied iz-Zurrieq. The incident happened at about 8 p.m. The woman was walking along a trail with her boyfriend after a picnic. She fell a height of eight metres and suffered fractures. The woman was lifted from the valley by AFM helicopter in an operation described as difficult by rescuers. Rescuers of the Civil Protection Department were also involved. The woman was hospitalised.
