Updated: Diver critical after being hit by propeller

A 45-year-old Finnish diver is in a critical condition after he was hit by the propeller of the boat he had travelled in as he was diving near Comino this afternoon. The police said the man was diving with five others, all Finn, at around 12.15pm. He was overcome by strong currents which pushed him towards the same boat he had travelled in. A diving buddy who is a doctor administered first aid and hoisted him on the same boat. He was rushed to Paradise Bay, Ċirkewwa, where an ambulance that was had been sent for him took him to Mater Dei Hospital.
