Dead flamingo found in freezer

A dead flamingo was found in a freezer at a residence in Kerċem during a police search yesterday. The police said the discovery was made in connection with an investigation triggered off by the killing of a flamingo on Saturday evening at tal-Fessej, Xewkija. However, it turned out that the bird found was killed on Sunday, in the vicinity of Kerċem. As a result, a fourth man, a 29-year-old who lives in Kerċem, was arrested as part of the same investigation, which is still ongoing. It is not being excluded that other flamingos were killed in the past days. On August 27, three men were arrested, a 66-, 37- and 23-year-old who live in Nadur, Għajnsielem and Żebbuġ, Gozo, respectively.
