Young man dies in traffic accident

A 33-year-old Eritrean man who is resident in Valletta, died this morning when the car he was driving crashed into an electricity pole and then into a field in Naxxar Road, Lija. The incident happened as the man drove a Peugeot 309 towards Mosta. The driver was rescued by members of the Civil Protection Department and assisted by an ambulance crew, but he succumbed to his injuries at Mater Dei Hospital.  A Magisterial inquiry is under way.
