Man describes how he was lured to secluded area and robbed

A man told a court today how he was driving in Gzira, on his way to a notary's office, when a woman hopped into his car and took him to a secluded area where he was robbed. The man was testifying in the compilation of evidence against Steve Galea, 21, from Ħamrun, Lineker David Micallef, 26, and Ellie Briffa, 20, both from Birkirkara, who are pleading not guilty trying to rob a man in Ġżira on August 12 at night. Two of the accused allegedly used a prostitute to lure men to secluded places, where they robbed them. A police inspector last week told the court that the prostitute had told the police that she was practically a slave of Mr Galea. Today's witness, whose name can not be published by court order, said that as he was circling the area to find parking,  the woman - who he recognized to be Ms Briffa - opened the door of his car, got in and told him: "Are you coming." She then told him where to drive to. He said he was confused and taken by surprise so he drove into the side road where she guided him. Once there two men approached his car. One of them took his keys out of the ignition and asked him for his money. He said he only had €20. The men searched his car but found...
