Updated - Bus passengers hurt in Zabbar crash

Three elderly female passengers were injured early this morning, two of them grievously, when the bus they were on crashed into a parked pick-up truck. The incident happened on Triq Wied il-Ghajn. The bus was travelling from Marsascala towards Zabbar. Its windscreen and front area were damaged in the crash. The Iveco pick-up was also heavily damaged. The passengers who were grievously injured are aged 75 and 57 and live in Żabbar and Fgura, respectively. The third woman, a 65-year-old from in Żabbar, was slightly injured. The bus was being driven by a 29-year-old man from Naxxar. The road has been closed to traffic. Meanwhile, a bendy bus was this morning also involved in a small collision with three cars in Attard. No one was injured.
