Chunks fall off San Gwann council office ceiling

Sizeable chunks of the ceiling of a groundfloor room at San Gwann local council collapsed over the weekend. Mayor Etienne Bonello Dupuis said it was fortunate that no one was in the offices at the time. IT lessons and public meetings are held where the collapse took place. Mr Bonello Dupuis said an architect would this evening assess whether the council could continue to operate from the building. A room had already been previously condemned by an architect and is not being used. The council has plans to move to new office in Karin Grech Square and talks are being held with the government for funding.
