Prospero Grech had warned Cardinals of schism in the Church

Cardinal Prospero Grech cautioned fellow cardinals against the dangers of a schism within the Church and made a call for unity ahead of the Pope’s installation, according to a leaked document published by Italian media. In his meditation session that opened the cardinals’ conclave last March, Cardinal Grech urged the Church to be more transparent and appealing to its followers following the cases involving paedophilia, the Vatileaks scandal and the blackmailing of homosexual clergy.
