Bikini police cadet photos surface from 2010, 2012

Photos of bikini-clad foreign cadets on official police boats from 2010 and 2012 have emerged, seemingly contradicting claims by former Police Commissioner John Rizzo that such pleasure cruises did not happen under his watch. A furore erupted last week when photos of a group of German cadets sunbathing in their swimwear on two police rigid-hulled inflatable boats went viral, resulting in four officers being reprimanded. Police Commissioner Peter Paul Zammit had said that the German police officers were on an “attachment programme” with the Maltese force, something that had been taking place for the past 10 years. However, his predecessor, Mr Rizzo, strongly denied that police officers under his watch ever took foreign cadets to swim using police vessels. The photos being published today show a number of policewomen in their swimwear enjoying themselves on police boats. In some cases, the women are relaxing in the sun while, in others, they are seen wrapped in beach towels joking with each other after a swim.
