Doubts still remain on the cause of death of drug trafficker Mario Camilleri, known as l-Imniehru, even though a second autopsy on his exhumed body was carried out today.
While forensic sources insist that today's examination confirmed their first theory - that he died of an acute coronary thrombosis - the Police Commissioner said this afternoon that the results were not clear cut and more medical tests and research had to be carried out.
He said that while the first autopsy listed myocardial infarction (heart attack) as the cause of death, the exact cause of the indicated heart attack was crucial and "any other intervening cause thereof is to be clarified".

Mr Camilleri’s body was found together with that of his son, Mario Jnr, partly buried in a shallow grave in a field at Qajjenza, Birzebbuga.
They were buried less than 36 hours after they were found but Mr Camilleri Snr’s body was exhumed last Tuesday for investigators to look for further evidence.
