Update 2: No one injured in fire at tomato depot in Burmarrad

No one was injured in a series of explosions at a tomato depot in Burmarrad this afternoon. The explosions occurred when two empty trailers caught fire. The trailers, the weigh bridge they were parked on and a tractor were damaged in the fire, which is now under control. The depot is where Maltese farmers take their tomatoes before they are sent to Magro Brothers' tomato factory in Gozo for processing. There was no one on site when the fire started. Civil Protection Department personnel are still on site. An inquiry is being held
