Man charged with threatening to kill girlfriend

A man who became obsessed with his girlfriend of a few months ended up in court charged with repeatedly threatening to kill her when their relationship turned sour. Marco Vassallo, 40, from Cospicua, was charged with threatening to kill Cecilia Dimech through various threatening SMS’s since the two quarrelled and ended their relationship earlier this month. He pleaded not guilty and his request for bail was turned down. Police Inspector Trevor Micallef prosecuted while lawyer Michael Cuschieri appeared for the man. Lawyers Franco Debono and Marion Camilleri appeared in parte civile.
