Woman refuses to give taxi driver an address then injures policewoman

A Swedish woman who wanted a taxi driver to take her home but refused to give him an address was this morning given a six-month jail term suspended for 18 months after she admitted to slightly injuring a policewoman. Lena Anna Annica Christina Linusson, 47, of Sliema, also admitted to assaulting the officer, violently resisting arrest, and breaching the peace. The court heard that the woman was blind drunk when she got into a white taxi at Paceville and asked the driver to take her home. However, she refused to tell him where she lived. Faced with a dilemma, the driver took her to the St Julian’s police station. Police officers ordered her to get out of the car but she refused so they tried to remove her from the taxi. This was when the policewoman was injured. In handing down judgement, the court took note of the woman’s clean police record.
