A policeman who broke open a car after a baby was mistakenly locked inside said today that there was nothing heroic about his actions but it is important for people to see that traffic policemen are not just about issuing tickets.
Police Constable Michael Farrugia said he was just doing his job when he intervened to help the distressed mother, who mistakenly locked her baby daughter in a car that was parked in the sun yesterday.
“Whenever I see people in need of my help I don’t hesitate,” he said. His message echoed the words of Archbishop Paul Cremona who, during the homily of a Mass for police officers last Friday, said it was important that the good deeds of police officers came to light.
