Alternattiva Demokratika insisted today that maps of countryside ownership need to be produced following FKNK's directive for its members to ban access to private property for the Ramblers' Association, all year round.
The directive was issued after the Ramblers backed an AD call for a referendum to ban spring hunting.
Arnold Cassola, Alternattiva Demokratika chairman, said that in view of the FKNK's directive, the prime minister should instruct the Land Registry Department to immediately produce maps on the ownership of Maltese countryside. That way, the people could know what land was really private and what public land has been 'stolen for years by private individuals for their own egoistic personal use'.
Moreover, AD said, the Prime Minister should ensure that the laws of the country were respected with regards to right of passage over private land.
