Malta is one of the most overcrowded countries in the world. And yet, one man and his sister have been living in relative isolation for their whole life. In tomorrow’s issue of Man Matters, a new Times of Malta publication, Nenu Sammut and his sister Rose tell how they live a simple, yet hard life in the shadow of rugged cliffs, on a farm so remote that it’s not even connected to the national grid. Raymond was a much longed for son among four sibling sisters. Yet when he was around 10 years old, Raymond started feeling that he had been born in the wrong body. Thanks to a supportive family, Raymond started living as Fiona and, after undergoing gender reassignment surgery, she is now legally female. She tells her story to Man Matters. To say that ballet is manly is quite a challenging statement. And yet, Jamie Iain Genovese meets three men with a passion for ballet who have made the dance form their profession. Man Matters also meets Maurice Schembri, who has managed to stub out his habit after decades of heavy smoking, and gets a ride in Magistrate Francesco Depasquale’s classic 1964 Alfa Giulia Sprint.
