Trucks caught dumping construction material in valley

Officers from Mepa's Enforcement Directorate today caught two trucks illegally dumping construction material into Wied Ta’ Xhajma in Nadur. The officers, who went on site following a tip off, immediately stopped the illegal works and informed the told the person in charge that enforcement action will be initiated. The officers calculate that some six truck loads of illegal material had already been dumped prior to their arrival. The authority said it will ensure that the material, which was dumped close to the watercourse, will be removed following the approval of method statement.
