Elderly woman suffers shock following washing machine fire

An elderly woman was taken to hospital to be treated for shock following a fire at her residence in Victory Street, Senglea. The fire, which was controlled by the Civil Protection Department, is believed to have started with a washing machine and spread to the balcony. The woman was at home with her granddaughter, who was not injured.
