Man jailed for driving without licence and insurance

A 23-year-old man from Valletta has been jailed for a total of one year after he was found guilty of driving without a licence and insurance and relapsing in June and August 2010. Burgh Spiteri, 23, was also charged with not wearing a seatbelt in the August 2010 case. Magistrate Francesco Depasquale said that taking into consideration that Mr Spiteri was a repeat offender left him with no option but to send the defendant to prison.
