Nationalist Party councillors are today voting to elect two deputy leaders - one for parliamentary, the other for party affairs.
This is the first time in the party’s history that it will be having two deputies.
Among those casting their vote this morning were party leader Simon Busuttil and the deputy leadership contestants Mario de Marco, Beppe Fenech Adami and Claudette Buttigieg.
Former leader and Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi voted at around 1pm.
Dr de Marco is uncontested for the post of deputy leader for Parliamentary Affairs, while that for deputy leader for party affairs is being contested by Dr Fenech Adami and Ms Buttigieg.
The councilors are today also voting to elect the party’s president and the 13 members of the executive.
