A former policeman who had admitted to accepting bribes to write off traffic related offences was this morning given a two year jail term suspended for four years, a general interdiction and a €670 fine.
Ian Grech, 38, of Marsascala had initially pleaded not guilty to receiving bribes, relapsing and committing a crime he was duty bound to prevent.
But he admitted to the crime during the hearing of his case.
