Mario de Marco has submitted his nomination for the election of PN deputy leader for parliamentary affairs, the only candidate to do so.
He submitted his nomination just minutes before the 2 pm. deadline, joking that submitting his nomination at the last minute was in keeping with 'tradition' and he had done the same for the leadership contest.
In brief comments, Dr de Marco recalled that he had said he would serve in whichever role the party needed him in.
He said he was not pressured in any way to contest the post and he was doing this for the good of the party.
Earlier, Beppe Fenech Adami and Claudette Buttigieg submitted their nomination for PN deputy leader for party affairs.

Speaking to reporters, Dr Fenech Adami said he was submitting his nomination out of humility and love for the party.
He said he was born in politics and had given 35 years of service, being active in various positions going up the ranks step by step. He said he was first a member, then a councillor, then a candidate, then an MP.
