Motorcyclist dies in accident

A 21-year-old motorcyclist from San Gwann lost his life this afternoon in a traffic accident at the Coast Road in Bahar ic-Caghaq. The police said the biker was riding a Kawasaki ZR in the direction of St Julian’s when he skidded and ended up under a Peugeot 307 that was being driven in the opposite direction by a 50-year-old woman from Mellieha. She was not injured. Members of the Civil Protection Department took the young man out from under the vehicle and he was rushed to hospital in an ambulance. An inquiry is being held. The road is closed to traffic.
