Two arrested after cocaine find

Two foreigners are being held by the police following a find of half a kilo of cocaine last night. The find was made following intensive investigations by the police and the Customs Department in the past months. The investigations led to the arrest of an 31-year-old American and a 30-year-old Panamanian on their arrival in Malta from Madrid yesterday afternoon. The police said they had been following the steps of people who formed part of this criminal circle and they found the drugs hidden in an apartment in St Julian’s. An inquiry is being held.
